Ecocoast at HYDRO 2023

Ecocoast will be participating at the HYDRO 2023 International Conference and Exhibition in Edinburgh, Scotland, from October 16 – 18, 2023

HYDRO 2023

The three-day conference and exhibition will be held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC), with thousands of representatives from all over the world taking part in technical sessions and exhibitions, along with study tours, workshops and a full social and cultural programme for both attendees and their accompanying partners.

Organised by Aqua~Media International Ltd, the publisher of The International Journal on Hydropower and Dams, HYDRO 2023 will feature some of the leading consultants, contractors, equipment suppliers, professional associations, and a multitude of other hydro specialists. The exhibition, which will run concurrently with the conference, will also showcase and demonstrate several of the latest technologies and systems related to the industry.

Edinburgh as host city

Scotland plays a significant role in the United Kingdom’s hydropower generation, contributing approximately 85% of the nation’s total hydropower output. This substantial contribution is made possible through an extensive infrastructure.

The hydroelectric landscape in Scotland is characterized by its impressive network of 78 large dams and 54 medium/large hydro plants, complemented by an extensive web of interconnected tunnels stretching over 300 kilometers. These impressive figures underscore Scotland’s pivotal position in harnessing the power of water to generate clean and sustainable energy for the UK.

Ecocoast at HYDRO 2023

We are delighted to announce that Ecocoast representatives will be taking part as an exhibitor again this year. Filip Stefanovic, Regional General Manager, and Michael Sims, Sales Engineer will be present across all three days of the event, exhibiting at stand #309.

Over the course of these three days, we will be putting the spotlight on two of our exceptional products: the Bolina Log Screen Booms and Bolina Permanent Debris Booms. These products address a paramount challenge faced by dam and reservoir operators worldwide – the presence of floating debris in the water, which poses a substantial risk to the ongoing functionality of these vital infrastructures.

Our solutions have already made a remarkable impact, contributing to heightened operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness at some of the world’s most prominent hydroelectric dams. They have been instrumental in enhancing the performance of renowned installations such as the Cahora Bassa Dam in Mozambique and the Montefurado Power Plant in Galicia, Spain. This track record solidifies our product range as an optimal choice for safeguarding critical infrastructure against potential disruptions.

We look forward to meeting all attendees and participants at HYDRO 2023, and hope that we can contribute towards making it a successful event.
